Living on board a boat

A suitable live aboard boat

Can anyone recommend a suitable live aboard vessel that we could use to cruise the Mediterranean? There are just two of us in our mid 50s. Sailing boats or power boats are both being considered. Any ideas?

We hope to do the same next year. We live in Australia and hope to get a 46-50 foot yacht. There will be my wife 50s and my son 16yrs. Then in the next few year sail it back to Aus.
We purchased a Bayliner 3788 last year in Fl USA. Use it and then shipped it back.
Could you let us known what you decide

How about a motorsailer? We lived on our boat for three years (a 36' Allied Ketch) and would certainly recommend a motorsailer for an older sailer who wants some comfort.

From my experience I would thoroughly recommend a schooner, yawl or a ketch so that you can easily heave-to when things get a little rough, as they are sometimes inclined to do in the Med and because the sail plan is cut up into a series of small sails whilst the main on a decent-sized sloop tends to be pretty heavy...

Don't you think you are abusing this site somewhat? If you're going to repeatedly advertise your boat on every thread, the least you could do is place an ad with The Yacht Market. If you don't want to do that, then don't drive us all nuts with your spam. If I see another one I'm going to report it as abuse. OK?

I just happened upon your conversation by coincidence.I have a 56'(approx 17m) custom built long range trawler which would make an ideal live aboard as it has the interior space of a 24m boat , is very well built and is very economical to run.I am located on the great lakes but would arrange delivery for the right price let me know what kind of price range you are looking at thanks Rick Ford
