I know this is a long shot, but we're desperate! Wondered if you might have a contact in or around Rhode Island--probably a private party, because yards in Newport, etc., don't rent daysailers!--that might lead to our being able to find one for the month of July or any week or two within it.

My last boat was a local class called a Narrasketuck, but anyone who owns one would have to be crazy to let it out of his sight unless he was going on an Arctic expedition. I'd happily settle for a month or a week or some odd days with a Flying Scot...O'Day...Atlantic,...no class, etc.--anything that floats and moves with the wind, even if I have to work on it a bit. I'd contract for liability and damage coverage, of course, and give a deposit.

Any promising contact in my area--someone traveling or in college, etc. who doesn't need his boat-- would be gratefully received.

Many thanks! Richard A. Lukin, NYC
