importing a boat
I wish to import a cruiser maybe 27-30 feet.What is there to be paid to goverment?Vat only?Can anyone tell me what to pay if i import from the EU or USA?

What country are you bringing the boat in to? Each country has their own import duties, fees and laws. Quite often it also depends on where the vessel is coming from.

There is a guy in new zealand that specioalises in getting boats for the US or Australia to the UK, electrical issues aside, i think your 110volt there in the UK? anyways if you are not most american boats now have load rating on internal wiring up to and over 400volts, most are CE compliant and the only other thing you need to worry about is hot water systems, battery chargers etc. comes down to what you want in a boat and what you want to pay, if you need any help drop me a line at mek59@bigpond.net.au, I actually source all my boats from the USA for myself and friends. also this is the guy in new zealand http://www.boatsdirect.co.nz/index.html
