I'm geting a lot of barnacle growth in my a/c lines & strainer. Does anybody have an idea how to prevent this?

Get a 3" chlorine tablet used for swimming pools. Break into smallers pieces about fourths. Put 1/4 of a tablet into the strrainer basket and run AC for 24 hours or more. You could do this when you go out for a weekend etc. Remove any tablet left in strainer. Do not let tablet sit in strainer with out waterflow (AC off or raw waternot running). Do this several times during the warm summer months if you are running the AC a lot. Particularly if you leave AC on at dock when not using your boat growth builds up fast. Those critters are fiter feeders and love moving water. The chlorine will kill any new growth of critters in the raw water plumbing. It will not remove any barnacle shellls etc that are already there. Will not harm plumbing or AC. My AC guy recommended this.
