Dry running worry

last weekend after use I ran my 4.3 Mercruiser inboard on the trailer with the muffs on and hose as usual. Unfortunately at some point the hose kinked and I think it may have run dry for about a minute. I noticed as you could could smell more exhaust smoke. I unkinked the pipe and ran for another minute to flush and hopefully steady things up. Is it likely to have caused damage in this time scale? the engine sounded normal and the temp guage was where it should be.

It's unlikely anyone on this forum will be able to help with something simple like this, check out the other posts and their born yesterday replies.
