Running a composite materials course, aimed at those working in the field looking to develop skills and improve efficiency.

the course will run every Thursday for 5 weeks at colleges and universities across Hampshire. On each of the 5 days, participants will learn the theory of using each type of material and then they will have the chance to use this knowledge for practical tasks.
Day 1 will be at Highbury College, and will cover health and safety, the use of basic materials, and principles of repair.
Day 2 will take place at Isle of Wight College, and will cover injection moulding.
Day 3 takes place at City College, Southampton, and covers the use of hybrid materials and epoxy resins.
Day 4 will be at Southampton Solent University and will cover the use of carbon fibre.
Day 5 will take place at Portsmouth University, and will give participants the opportunity to test the products they have produced throughout the course.
What are the benefits of attending the course?
Employees can benefit by the increased efficiency of employees who participate in the course.
Participants will benefit by learning the theory behind the techniques they are already using.
After we ran a similar course in November 2009, participants said that it:
"helped them to understand things that they could do better back at their own workplaces and improvements they could pass on to their colleagues".
How much does the course cost?
The cost of the course, including all materials, would normally be around £1000. However we are able to offer it at a subsidised rate of £395 per person until the end of 2010. Early booking and/or group booking discounts also available!
