Re: Thames Marine Mirage 28 keel bolts
Well I did the starboard (bilge) keel on mine by:
A: Lift the boat with atravelift and cant it over a bit in the sling so that the relevant keel is vertical. B: Drop the keel a few inches by slacking the nuts (tight but, given the right spanner, not difficult). B: Take a good look, conclude (no serious corrosion) that all was well C: File out the old filler etc, repack with sikaflex and pull the bolts up again!
Whole thing took a couple of hours while the travelift driver had his dinner...
Haven't done the port one yet, largely because it looks as though one of the bold heads must be inside the moulded battery platform. Ugh.
Hope this helps, Cheers, Phil

Re: Thames Marine Mirage 28 keel bolts
am doing both of mine at the moment. There is a need to create a solid spacer for want of a word so it is vital to match the keel strubs and the keel. Greasae or protect the stubs and then offer up the keel so that the epoxy forms a packer . when set trhe lower the keel and seat with Seakaflex .
