Ne1978 Moody 42 CC Ketch with aPerkins 4.236 Diesel 75HP engine. TheMoody 42 CC Ketch is a fantastic long-distance cruiser, ideal blue water cruiser. With centre cockpit this is a very safe go-anywhere yacht.

The Accommodation offers 8 berths in 4 cabins, forward cabin with double vee berth. To the port side a double bunk berth with marine heads shower and vanity unit. Large saloon with seating for up to 8 persons, this doubles up to provide another double berth. This vessel has done extensive cruising with the last two previous owners and is now looking offer comfortable and safe cruising with new owners. 2015 April all winches serviced oil filters to main engines changed. Oil changeNew fuel filter to generatormain sail and genoa serviced - IpswichHolding tank fitted to fwd heads. Steve Pike, Ipswich.Water pump impellor changed. And again. Note to self - always fit new!

Aug Lift out, clean and antifoul. Atlantic Marine, harlingen (following vibration from prop).Propellor serviced - all new bearings.septlift out following shaft coupling failure. Engine shaft brake reworked and recommissioned. (Tony Manson) inc warning light on dash. Shaft coupling fixed. Engine alignment redone with new engine mounts.Engine electrics - new harness made and fitted by Stuart Jackson (Ipswich).

2016 April Wind generator - new bearings fitted (Jersey).

May new domestic water pump fitted new battery fitted for built-in generatorJune2 new domestic batteries fitted. 180 AH each. Ribadesella Fwd heads - new shower pump tray fitted.

Aug new engine battery fitted (Vigo) One of two replaced.

Nov boat lifted and washed. Stored ashore til Jan (Cartagena, Spain). Fouling to bow thruster and waterline.

Bowman Heat exchanger re manufactured,

2017Jan new domestic accumulator tank fitted new small ambient fridge fitted in place of old (not working) freezer.propellor serviced - bearings in blades 2&3 replaced. Damaged?? Replacements free from Brunton.new electric toilet fitted fwd, to try and cure holding tank blockages.

Feb oil filters to main engines changed. Oil change new water pump impeller

April generator engine hours - 290.7battery monitor sent away to be fixed (AdverC). Solar/wind power/voltage regulator rebooted. Engine batteries damaged by faulty regulator - both replaced.

May anchor winch serviced. Brushes worn but still serviceable. Lots of dust inside. Works after cleaning!junewater maker fully commissioned and serviced. New membrane and other parts. Palma, Majorca.

July fridge broke. New compressor fitted. Palma, Majorca.perimeter caulking to 'teak' deck raked out and replaced with PU298 Soly plast steering UJ under bunk checked and greased. Small amount of play.all perimeter caulking redone with "Sikaflex DC295UV" . Name done with DC290 pro (sets harder, can be sanded). Use primer! Sikaflex multiprimer marine UNI1866.

Sep lift out at Alcadeisa, Nr Gibraltar Prop checked (not fully dismantled).Hull cleaned. Some fouling on prop shaft, prop, bow thruster.All seacocks serviced.Galley sink seacock seized. Wont budge. bolts replaced in bow roller assembly (except 2, which are inaccessible).generator serviced new lazy jacks fitted to main and mizzen outboard serviced new anodes fitted to prop and prop shaft

Oct new sun/rain screens made, ready for Caribbean! Simple squares of sunbrella.2018

Jan Atlantic crossing windex serviced and refitted. Now works, showing windspeed and relative direction.log working in Gib. Failed again during crossing. New gooseneck fittings (inc spare) made by T Manson. Not yet fitted. Main sail not used on crossing.teak deck seal to port side perimeters (PU238 Solyplast) is starting to fail. Has pulled out completely in places where diesel has spilt on it.

Feb new prop shaft anode and prop anode fitted, using 'hookah' gear. AIS transmit not working. Problem traced to failed aerial.Old GPS aerial used as temp fix for AIS.

Aprillower shroud on starboard side - one broken thread noted halfway down. Unusual! Fixed at FKG Rigging in St Martin.wind generator - noisy. Taken down for new bearings but found magnet cracked. New hub 320, new unit 650. Remounted without repair, awaiting new unit.

May Generator stopped after 1 hour in use. Coolant level found to be low. Topped up expansion tank on wall. Also topped up oil. Outboard slipping under power after hitting and shredding another rope. New propellor ordered and fitted in Puerto Rico. $120.

June autopilot problems - steering very stiff when AP 'on' but not engaged. Disconnected at quadrant - hand steering then easy. Linear drive arm dismantled and cleaned. Circlip on end of planetary gear assembly had come off. Reassembled and fitted. Working ok, but 'service kit' ordered.New wind generator fitted - all working fine.julyNew deckwash fitted. Wiring to be redone - fuses if used with anchor.new AIS aerial and coax fitted up mast. Loose wiring found under chart table. Weak connector block found and sorted.radar had been not working (rarely used). Plug had fallen out of back of screen. Sorted.

SeptDeckwash wiring redone - new switch fitted to side of seat, adj charger.Serviced prop. New main seals fitted.Antifoul - 'super proguard', 2 coats. 2.5 tins at $149 per tin. Relaunched late sept.new LP magnetic pump fitted to watermaker.octEngine service - oil, filters, impeller Fwd heads - pipe from toile to holding tank removed and cleaned out (completely blocked with concretion). Hit with hammer and shake!new (second-hand) seacock fitted to forward heads.new domestic batteries fitted new mizzen and main fitted by Ullman Sails, Deltaville.New bushes fitted to anchor winch motor.

Nov Steaming light bulb replaced. NB Wiring in poor condition (sun damage) and polarity is wrong for LED. Lop-sided bayonet fitting- bulb can only go in one way.

2019 JanGear box seals failed.

Feb gear box fully rebuilt and reinstalled in Marsh Harbour, Bahamas. $1500 labour, $450 parts. NB if you breakdown in the Bahamas, ROW the bloody boat ANYWHERE ELSE to get it fixed. Worst import arrangements in THE WORLD.brake on shaft- binding. Return springs removed and cleaned.Caulking around gas locker and deck - various small failed patches on port side repaired with 3M Marine Adhesive Sealant "3000UV".Engine water pump (fresh water) replaced.Watermaker failed - HP pump will not switch on. Later just started working again.MarchEngine lift pump failed. Replaced with electric (bypassed old).

April Injector pump failed - drive shaft broke. Repaired in DR. $800.injector pump failed - drive shaft broke again. Repaired in Puerto Rico, along with injectors. $1000. One faulty - probably caused injector pump failure.

May Outboard prop failed. Temporary fix with screw through rubber housing. (new prop not obtainable)

Aug new domestic water pump purchased but not fitted - managed to fix leak on old one by changing outlet pipe to reduce stress on joint.septstanchion base fwd of port entry gate replaced. Bolt through deck had stripped - drilled and tapped to next size up. New base 80.Passive vent over aft cabin - 'glass' replaced (had cracked).2020febprop cleaned and greased. Hull cleaned at waterline.marchboat launched on 12th. 14th -covid lockdown.

July installed new Panda generator - Travis Westwood (Ipswich). Work done by Tom.changed engine oil, oil filter, flushed engine cooling water, removed heat exchanger end cap and replaced O ring.installed new deck light on mizzen.Fwd shower drain pump removed and cleaned. Works, but needs new impeller. New impeller fitted

Aug 2020. Pump is worn.

Aug spinnaker pole end seized (has been so for a while- spinnaker hardly used since crossing - track bent and not yet repaired.). Dismantled pole end, cleaned and greased. All now working.Generator replaced AGAIN by fisher panda - raw water cooling pump connection had failed, spraying whole unit with seawater, causing corrosion after 15 hours use. Computer not reset for new unit.thru deck seal on port-hand lower shroud on main - removed, cleaned and re-sealed with CT1. Stbd saloon hatch removed and resealed with CT1.fwd bilge pump - new shallow whale 1100 GPH pump fitted. NB Float switch not working - has been by-passed.

SeptNew engine room blower fitted. Fuse is located inline, behind ignition switch on dashboard pedestal.handbrake - not working after work in engine room by others. (leaked). Tightened bottom pipe connection and refilled - seems ok.octall sails off, lazyjacks off, for zips to be mended. NB narrow Ubolts on sail cars are binding in the cars and causing damage. Must replace with wide ones.new galley tap fitted.

2021 June blew engine plug - new one fitted. 80p!engine oil, filters.

2022 June engine oil, filters.

July windlass controller replaced.

Aug port side lower shroud replaced - one strand broken mid-span.

2022 New seacocks fitted to fwd heads and galley.
