Senior Designer / Front End Developer

Salary: £22-£30K based on experience and skillset
Experience: 3 years+ experience working as part of an agency or in-house team an advantage

Brief Job Description

Working as part of TheYachtMarket’s growing team of Developers, you will be responsible for the design of web and print material either directly for the company itself or for its large client base.

You will need to ensure a high level of quality and accuracy within your designs and work within timescales at all times.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • To further develop the TheYachtMarket Network’s corporate style, ensuring it remains up to date with current trends in design.
  • To design / manage the design and production of printed and web media for client projects. This will involve liaising directly with clients and suppliers, to ascertain their requirements, to gather and respond to feedback, and put together quotations.
  • Design, build and broadcast of HTML newsletters for TheYachtMarket and its client mailers.
  • To liaise directly with the Development team to aid a smooth workflow between programming and design when working on web and multi-media projects.
  • To ensure that websites are W3C compliant where possible and are compliant with accessibility and latest best practices.
  • To liaise and attend company meetings as necessary to perform duties and aid business and organisational development.
  • To control expenses to meet budget guidelines.
  • To adhere to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes and ensure that they are communicated and implemented within the team.
  • Any other relevant tasks appropriate to the organisation’s needs.

Key Skills required – must haves:

  • HTML
  • CSS
  • Print design – from corporate stationery and magazines to large scale format printing such as billboards
  • HTML newsletter design, build and broadcasting process
  • Design and development of Corporate Identity –either for TheYachtMarket or for its clients
  • Creation of banner adverts for TheYachtMarket.com – gif / flash / jpgs
  • jQuery – working with plugins, debugging, writing basic rules

Knowledge of the following an advantage:

  • Wordpress design and build – unique theme creation, skinning themes, database set up, debugging, PHP customisation
  • Responsive Design
  • HTML 5
  • SEO
  • Accessibility
  • Designing for CRM systems

Must be proficient in:

  • Photoshop / Fireworks
  • One or more of the following: Dreamweaver / Coda / Eclipse
  • Illustrator
  • InDesign

Must be:

  • Organised
  • Meticulous
  • Passionate
  • Work well in a team environment and equally as well working alone

Must be able to:

  • Work on multiple projects at any one time
  • Respond to quick deadlines
