CONSTRUCTIONBuilt in 1963. Construction is of 1" mahogany carvel planking on Rock Elm frames, copper fastened, cast iron ballast keel, marine ply sheathed decks, painted grey, transom hung rudder, aft cockpit with tiller steering, Bermudan sloop rig and 5 berth internal layout. Top-sides re-painted November 2007, keelbolts drawn and inspected.

ENGINEYanmar 2GM20 18HP twin cylinder diesel which was installed new in 1994. Raw water cooling, electric start, shaft drive to fixed 3 blade propeller. 12 gallon fuel tank (stainless steel 1994) with a consumption per hour of around 1/2 a gallon at a cruising speed of about 6 knots. 2 x 12 volt batteries (1996 and 1998) with charging from engine alternator.

DOMESTIC EQUIPMENTHer galley has a stainless steel Marina gas cooker with 4 burners, grill and oven, stainless steel sink with pressurised hot and cold water supply (hot water via gas heater in heads). Her separate heads compartment has a Blakes Marine toilet with hand shower. 50 gallon water capacity in 3 tanks. Maroon velour upholstery with curtains. She is also equipped with a Portman No. 1 solid fuel heater.
ACCOMMODATIONShe has 5 single berths in 2 cabins including 2 "V" berths in the separate forward cabin and 3 single berths in the saloon.

REMARKS"Cherry of Portchester" was purchased by her current owner through ourselves in March 1994. Her owner subsequently spent much time and money on refitting parts of the interior and fitting a new Yanmar diesel engine. Overall she is a good, strong and fast cruising yacht.
