"CHERRY OF PORTCHESTER" £20.000

CONSTRUCTION Built in 1963. Construction is of 1" mahogany carvel planking on Rock Elm frames, copper fastened, cast iron ballast keel, marine ply sheathed decks, painted grey, transom hung rudder, aft cockpit with tiller steering, Bermudan sloop rig and 5 berth internal layout. Top-sides re-painted November 2007, keelbolts drawn and inspected.

BUILDER Designed by Robert Clark and built by Alan Feltham Ltd.

SAILS Roller reefing mainsail, spare mainsail. No 1 Genoa, No 2 Genoa, No 1 Jib, No 2 Jib, No 3 Jib and storm Jib. Keel stepped white painted alloy mast with white painted wooden boom, stainless steel standing rigging and Terylene/wire running rigging.
ENGINE Yanmar 2GM20 18HP twin cylinder diesel which was installed new in 1994. Raw water cooling, electric start, shaft drive to fixed 3 blade propeller. 12 gallon fuel tank (stainless steel 1994) with a consumption per hour of around 1/2 a gallon at a cruising speed of about 6 knots. 2 x 12 volt batteries (1996 and 1998) with charging from engine alternator.

DECK GEAR Stainless steel pushpit, pulpit and guardwires, varnished wooden spinnaker pole, blue sprayhood (96), blue mainsail cover, tarpaulin, 2 Lewmar bronze sheet winches and wire type bronze halyard winch, beaching legs, CQR anchor with approx 180 ft of chain, boat hook, mooring warps and fenders, bronze and teak cleats aft, alloy cleats amidships, mahogany main hatch with acrylic panels, 2 alloy cleats and bollards forward.

SAFETY GEAR 2 horseshoe lifebuoys with lights, fog horn canister, fire blanket, 2 fire extinguishers, electric and manual bilge pumps, Avon 4 Man Liferaft.

NAVIGATION Sestrel Moore compass, Incastec mini log, Incastec mini
EQUIPMENT depth, Standard Horizon VHF, MLR 2008 GPS, Simrad T32 Tiller Pilot, brass clock and barometer, hand bearing compass, navigation lights, steaming light, tri colour masthead light and anchor light.

DOMESTIC EQUIPMENT Her galley has a stainless steel Marina gas cooker with 4 burners, grill and oven, stainless steel sink with pressurised hot and cold water supply (hot water via gas heater in heads). Her separate heads compartment has a Blakes Marine toilet with hand shower. 50 gallon water capacity in 3 tanks. Maroon velour upholstery with curtains. She is also equipped with a Portman No. 1 solid fuel heater.





ACCOMMODATION She has 5 single berths in 2 cabins including 2 "V" berths in the separate forward cabin and 3 single berths in the saloon.

REMARKS "Cherry of Portchester" was purchased by her current owner through ourselves in March 1994. Her owner subsequently spent much time and money on refitting parts of the interior and fitting a new Yanmar diesel engine. Overall she is a good, strong and fast cruising yacht.
