Description
Riva Aquarama
Riva of Italy - which traces its beginnings to mid-19th century was a world leader in producing elegant, luxury wooden runabouts. In 1962, Carlo Riva introduced the Aquarama series with a powerful bi-motor. This series had so much charm and elegance that she is compared with Rolls-Royce and Ferrari. With the Aquarama, Riva managed to create more than a symbol or spokesman: it created a legend which has traveled the globe. Extraordinary style, elegance and craftsmanship made the Super Aquarama and all of the Riva boats a work of art which still to this day remain decidedly unforgettable.
The Super Aquarama is definitely the most beautiful engine-powered object one could ever see cruising so its no surprise that this graceful mahogany classic won the "Award of Excellence - Concours d'Marine" at the 2005 Greenwich Concours d'Elegance held in Greenwich, CT. Amazingly, the "Bardot Riva" is completely original right down to its varnish. Through an amazing series of Events, "Kitten" spent most of her entire pampered life in climate controlled warehouses. The tachometers which include Hobbs meters show a mere 48 hours from new!
Kitten is a pristine example of the highly sought after Super Aquarama. She has been meticulously restored to her original glamour, and every detail is not only original, but also in mint condition. Previously owned by 60's Hollywood starlett and Bond girl Brigette Bardot, Kitten is elegant and luxurious. Own a piece of history with this matchless yacht.
A truly mythical boat, maybe the most beautiful machine ever to cruise on the water. It has achieved truly legendary status for its design, attention to detail, and association with movie stars and the jet set from the 60’s. In the 50s and 60s the Riva name gained worldwide fame to the point of becoming a "myth". Kings and emperors, princess and sultans, actors and sportsmen and all the international jet set headed straight to Riva to choose their boats. Nothing came near to matching the beauty, superb quality and prestige of a Riva as they graced the most important and exclusive harbors of the world. Among all the celebrities who owned a Riva were Brigitte Bardot, Dino de Laurentis, Richard Burton, Sean Connery, Peter Sellers, Prince Rainier of Monaco, the Shah of Persia, King Hussein of Jordan... and the list does not stop there. By the virtue of its glamour and elegance this twin engine craft can only be compared to a Rolls Royce with Ferrari performance.
