Oyster 56 built in 2001, commissioned and launched in 2002. She was built for her owner who planned to cruise the Pacific Ocean to New Zealand for the America's Cup in 2002. The yacht was then shipped back to Newport, Rhode Island where the owner sailed her down the East Coast of the United States to the Caribbean for the winter. After a brush with hurricane Ivor she was shipped back to the UK for an extensive refit by Berthon Boat Company. She is now in first class condition and available to view through Ancasta Lymington by appointment only.

The owner decided to dispense of the small mid ships cabin allowing access to the aft cabin without having to go through the galley. This also allowed him to have a larger en-suite shower compartment, a writing table in the cabin and improved access to the machinery space.
