The Athena B was crippled in stormy seas so the then 'Dorothy' went out three times , firstly rescuing the captains wife and daughter, the going back for a young French girl (where the lifeboat was almost thrown onto the Athena's deck by waves) and finally returning for 11 more crew.
The boat was purchased from the RNLI in 1988 and has had just 2 owners since. She has been MCA CAT2 coded and is currently in use within a RYA powerboat training centre.
