Description
SHE 31 - Classic Half Tonner
One of the most successful and attractive Sparkman & Stephens designed Half-ton production cruiser / racers, the She 31 still offers excellent performance and useful accommodation. In many ways comparable to the Contessa 32’s, which are of the same era, they share the same virtues of excellent handling, all-weather performance, and high ultimate stability, as well as being exceptionally pretty.

The She 31 Half tonner is one of the most successful and attractive Sparkman & Stephens designed production cruiser-racers with excellent handling, all-weather performance and high ultimate stability, as well as being exceptionally pretty. "Yachting Monthly" described them as "..... regarded by many as the epitome of good IOR design".
'Sherry' is fine example of the legendary SHE 31 1/2 Ton Cruiser Racer, a classic design in it's own right and in her hay-day proven to out perform all other yachts in her class.
Today she is still a joy to helm and sail within the secure & sheltered cockpit coamings, controls are to hand making her ideal for efficient short handed cruising.
With her elegant waterline and sheerstrake, 'Sherry' is an truly outstandingly beautiful yacht.
1x brand new halyard. All other halyard & sheet are in good condition.
Alloy Mast & booms are in sound condition.
The sail are in good, servicable order and the furling system is a substancial Facnor unit.
Dacron sails included are:
Tudor Sailmakers Mainsail with 2x slab reefs,
Furling Genoa in good condition & recently had a new UV strip fitted.
HOOD Storm jib with hanks to attach to the emergency forestay (which is included),
Working jib with hanks.
There is also blue & white masthead spinnaker.
Blue sprayhood & stainless steel frame is included.
'Sherry' has recently undergone an extensive & professional refit
including :-
Brand new engine installation,
Spraypainted 2-pack polyurethane Ivory topsides,
coachroof, cockpit and decks,
Restored and Teak oiled brightwork,
Interior painted & varnished,
full epoxy treatment carried out to the undersides,
all the stainless steel standing rigging was renewed and included brand new bottlescrews with integral toggles.
Before presenting her for sale and to satisfy insurance we had her independently surveyed.
The report highlighted a few minor issues, these recommendations have all been rectified professionally. This Survey which was carried out September 2008 is available on request.
