FINESSE 24 - BILGE KEEL Designed an built by Alan F Platt at his ‘hideaway’ yard in Thudersley, Essex, the Finesse 24 is a traditionally-built, clinker cruiser. She has many of the qualities built into her smaller sister, the 21, and, inherent with her increased beam, some of the internal ‘comforts’ which became accepted features on modern, glassfibre, production boats. A classic wooden boat, the Finesse continued in production because it was a successful design with popular appeal. Built on the East Coast, the shallow draft permits access to the more remote, uncrowded inland areas while still being a very capable sea boat for more open water.
