28ft Wooden Family Yacht “Mazilda” For Sale
It is with deep regret that this much loved 28ft, 4 berth wooden family yacht with inboard 26hp engine, is offered for sale.
This 1936 Cooper 6 Tonner is a beautiful bermudan cutter with a canoe stern, sunken mahogany cockpit and wide decks. She is constructed of carvel planking (pitched pine on steamed oak frames and timbers) with caulked seams. Below the water, she has a long deep keel with oak deadwood and a lead ballast section as well as a deep keel hung wooden rudder and a 3 bladed propeller.
Mazilda has benefited from a 4 year winter maintenance programme including replacing the standing and running rigging (excluding the mast, but including chain plates), 2 aft keel bolts, stern tube, deadwood and rudder stock casing as well as several strap floors, ribs and frames.
