The Monterey 298 SS combines the best qualities of a bowrider and cruiser, providing luxurious padded seating and lounge space over the entire exterior; yet a private head, vanity, sink, and shower to starboard and large private stateroom with a double berth, 2 opening side ports, entertainment center, microwave, and electrical panels to port. Both areas below decks are light and bright with opening ports with screens and plenty of ventilation even with the main companionway hatches and doors closed. The large swim platform with integrated fold-down ladder makes boarding easy and a hinged door near the transom helps to keep guests in the cockpit.
Enter the spacious, carpeted cockpit through the transom door under the large Sunbrella Bimini and the wet bar with sink and Isotherm refrigerator/icemaker is to port with the well-appointed helm station with adjustable double helm seat with bolster forward to starboard. The center panel of the wrap-around windshield opens to provide full walk-through access to the wraparound seating in the bow and the watertight companionways on each side. Each companionway has a hinged top opening with gas shocks and a large side opening door. The VacuFlush head, vanity and shower is to Starboard, and the double berth stateroom with LCD flat screen TV, DVD player, Stereo, CD Changer with Sirius Radio receiver, and electrical panel is to Port.

This Monterey 298 SS is built on a deep V Hull wit a wide 9'6" beam that produces a huge cockpit with an aft bench seat that folds down to create an enormous sunpad for sun-worshippers. She is equipped with a Stainless Steel Anchor roller, 15# Delta anchor, chain and nylon Rode. The large engine room is easily accessed under the aft queen sized sun pad by activating an electric rocker switch that raises the sunpad above the twin Merc 350 Mag MPI 325HP fuel-injected engines with ONLY SEVENTEEN (17) HOURS. This is one of the largest engine compartments that this Broker has seen on a 29' boat; with exceptionally easy access for checking fluids. All fluids and filters were changed in January 2008, as well as full dealer service.
