Chaparral Signature 320 The exquisite 320 Signature showcases everything we've learned in nearly four decades of boat building experience. The look is clean, the styling is innovative, the performance unsurpassed and the technology cutting edge. You won't find a hard edge anywhere in the cockpit with a user-friendly circular seating arrangement and transom entrance that is ideal for cruising or weekend jaunts. Every inch of carpeting onboard is removeable for easy cleanup and longer life. Attention to detail extends from a standard transom shower to a stainless steel anchor guard. Outfitted for those who demand the best, the 320 is equipped standard with many extras that are pricey options on rival offerings including a generator, air conditioning/heat, shore power, TV/VCR, a microwave, coffee maker, porcelain head and a battery charger. The standard Camper Canvas package is designer to mount below the arch, not attached to it, for better rain and leak prevention. Additionally, our forward facing radar arch keep antennas off the deck and is shaped so that it won't interfere while fishing. Deck hardware helps set the 320 apart. Standard oversized 1 1/4" rails are mounted with countersunk screws and double welded for strength. An anchor gaurd, mid-deck grab rails and a standard recessed anchor roller with a windlass make every inch of the boat useable. In the cabin, our dual dinetts, well-equipped galley, totally private aft cabin, inlaid flooring and maple entry steps combine with premium fabrics and a suspended vinyl headliner for a look that sets the trend in bluewater cabin design.
Other features
Centerline length... it's a vital factor in performance and ride comfort and also one of the most important ingredients in determining a boats' price. Unfortunately in this era where extended dive platforms have mysteriously become a very misleading part of a boat's centerline length, there are a large number of builders that claim one length and deliver another. Not Chaparral. Chaparral's award winning Extended V-Plane running surface is a no-nonsense approach to bottom design. Unlike rivals that come up as much as two feet short in the critical area where fiberglass meets water, our award-winning Extended V-Plane running surface stretches full length. Consequently, every inch of fiberglass is always at work whether you're on a carefree cruise or motoring full speed ahead in whitecap water. Extended V-Plane works. No steps. Nothing radical. Just sound engineering that has been time-tested to provide optimum performance in all types of water and weather conditions.
Quicker Planing Times We too have seen our share of deckboats lumbering to get on plane with their bow pointing skyward as the engines rev and the visibility is lost. Not so on a Chaparral. Quicker planing times mean improved visibility in crowded waterways and better mileage so you'll spend less tim at the fuel dock. Balanced Tracking Pick your compass heading, a full length bottom design is more sure and true in the shifting water patterns that are a fact of life on the water. Added Stability Shifting weight loads are a fact of life on a deckboat. People are always on the move. Our full length design, along with a Sunesta's stabilizing bottom, adds an extra measure of balance while diving, fishing or swimming and at speed. Improved Fuel Economy When a boat runs efficiently it burns less gas. It's that simple. Additionally, because our deckboats stay on plane at lower speeds than rival offerings, you can pull wakeboarders or knee skiers while significantly lowering your fuel bills. Precision Cornering Whether you're running straight ahead to your destination or carving a change of direction turn, we've precision engineered the chines, keel and strakes to work in perfect harmony to create the most controllable ride possible. Wider Longer and Deeper Our extended V-Plane bottom design not only pays dividends in performance, but also in interior design. Because our boats are wider, longer and deeper you'll enjoy more legroom, added storage space and a drier ride.
Sovereign Cherry Cabinetry The look inside a Signature cruiser is high class through and through. We coordinate a sovereign cherry finish on all of our galley cabinets, refrigerator doors and bathroom entryways. Some competitors still use stark white cabinets and doors. Solid Maple Tables In keeping with our elegant cabin styling, most of our insert tables are made from solid maple with rounded corners and a solid, secure base. Rivals use laminate tables that mar and scuff easily. Full-Width Grab Rail No matter how large the galley, we include a convenient full width grab rail that provides support in turbulent seas and doubles as a towel holder. Gibraltar Countertops Used in the kitchens of the world’s most expensive homes, rich-looking Gibraltar countertops not only look elegant but repel scratches and knife cuts far better than fiberglass or plastic surfaces used on other cruisers. Wand Faucets In addition to our fixed faucet galleys, we include a wand so you can direct water pressure where it’s needed most during clean-up. Seaworthy Positive Latches All of our sovereign cherry cabinets and drawers remain tightly closed even in big water thanks to our seaworthy, recessed push-button positive latch fittings. One touch access is simple and more secure than pinch or hook latches.
Color Coordinated ScotchGuard Fabrics We offer an array of custom designed cabin fabrics that are color coordinated and treated with Scotchguard™ to protect against the spills that are inevitable on a big water cruiser. Ultra Soft Touch Vinyl Our custom ultra-soft touch cabin vinyls are designed to meet the unique demands of boaters and coordinate with the high class ambiance that is uniquely a Chaparral Signature. Lined Privacy Drapes All of our privacy drapes are lined for added protection and pleated for neat folding. Vinyl Headliner Unlike lightweight carpet that is glued to the cabin ceiling exposing every irregular contour our vinyl headliners won’t stain, are easy to clean and will not retain cooking odors. Plush Carpeting Our ultra-plush carpeting feels good underfoot and adds a level of comfort not usually found on most boats. Optional Sunbrella runners protect the carpeting on the 350, 300, 260 and 240. Snap-in carpet is included standard on the 320, 280 and 270 which are built with a fiberglass cabin innerliner. Translucent Sliding Cabin Doors Our cabin doors allow light to pass through yet keep prying eyes out. Our design is rattle free and is available with an optional screen door for added ventilation. Eye Level Opening Ports All of our opening screened ports are designed for eye level viewing. Hideaway Stereo Speakers We flush mount twin stereo speakers behind the upholstered forward bulk head with custom grille openings for maximum sound quality. Oversized Screened Deck Hatches Cabin ventilation and access to the deck is provided by large, square deck hatches that have retractable screens and shades. Two locking arms secure the unit open. Others use small oval hatches with single supports. Designer Lighting On the 270 up, traditional swivel extended lighting fixtures are replaced with designer lights that are flush-mounted in the ceiling or indirectly tucked away behind valances for a mood-setting ambiance.
Oversized Aft Cabin Designs On a Signature cruiser, the aft cabin is anything but an afterthought. All of our aft cabins feature premium fabrics, full sized sleeping accommodations and a wide open feeling you don’t get on other boats. AC / Heating Unit Mounted Under the Dinette We mount our air conditioning / heat compressor under the dinette seat instead of below the forward V-berth so the peacefulness of the waves really can help lull you to sleep uninterrupted. Stand-Up Fiberglass Head From the 240 to the 350, all of our cruisers have standup headroom in the fiberglass head with opening ports and electric exhaust fans and more legroom than rival offerings. Countertop space is also a plus.
36-Ounce Expanded Vinyl White 36-oz vinyl cools the “ouch” factor in hot weather, and holds its shape far better than less expensive fuzzy back vinyls which wrinkle without returning to form. Triple French stitching adds a classy look, stainless steel staples improve seat life. Flow Foam We add a protective layer of flow foam between the traditional foam and the Starlite seat base to create an air barrier and to help speed water passage through the seat. Starlite Seat Bases High density, Starlite seat bases repel water better than wood and provide superior support. Aluminum Angled Supports To help keep our seats ship-shape, we use three angled bottom supports in our seat bases. Rivals either use just one support or none at all which means saggy seats are just a few months away. Three Position Helm Seat Our dual-wide helm seat has a flip-up base so you can operate the boat sitting, with bolster support or standing. Separate arm rest cushions on the seat create the big water stability of a bucket seat. Foldaway Rear Seat Bench Most of a Signature cruisers are equipped standard with o foldaway rear bench seat so you can enjot complete access to the transom for fishing, diving and watersports. Some rivals require you to remove the rear seat from the boat, which can be a very difficult task when you're offshore. Dual Stanchion Full Sized Cockpit Tables In the cockpit of all of our Signature Cruisers except the 240 and 260, our aft tables are oversized and include four drink holders. Instead of a single table leg we use two for added support. The table folds down to support an insert filler cushion for sunlounging. Recessed Anchor Locker, Roller and Windlass Instead of mounting unsightly hardware on top of the deck where it's susceptible to weather damage, all of the equipment you'll need for anchoring is kept in a recessed compartment. Additionally, instead of a rounded contour that makes footing difficult, the foredeck on our Signature Cruisers is flat. Full-Sized Cleats Full-sized cleats are mounted with secure backing plates. We mount three cleats on the foredeck, two for mooring and one for anchoring. Amazingly, some competitors use only one cleat forward. Additionally our aft and midship cleats are carefully positioned so the gelcoat isn't chafed whether you're using a cross tie or four corder tie-off method. Walk-Thru Windshield Instead of a narrow gunwale catwalk like most cruisers, all Signature offerings feature molded dash steps that lead to a center opening walk-thru windshield. On the deck, UL approved non-skid provides sure footing. We also keep the deck contour flat upfront for handling lines and anchoring. Extended Activity Platform We mount our extended dive platforms within inches of the water for easy egress. Our three step stainless steel telescopic ladder is mounted on the starboard side for better visibility of passengers while in the water. Our ladder includes and extra rung which doubles as a grab handle when stowed. Rivals use two step ladders without a handle. We protect the platform with the same stainless rub rail on the hullside not plastic which will easily scuff. Stainless steel supports are stronger than wood. Finally, our custom molded lids feature UL approved non-skid instead of slippery-when-wet plastic coverings. Oversized Transom Storage Trunk Most of our Signature cruisers have transom storage trunks so you can keep oversized items like fenders, lines and water toys readily available. Our hatch doors are supported with gas against shocks and our larger models have stainless steel hangars inside for stowing your electrical connections.
Raymarine Electronics We use nothing but factory-installed Ray Marine electronics with dedicated space on the dash for all your navigation and communication needs. Tan Gelcoat Helm Our standard tan gelcoat helm console is easy on the eyes and provides better instrument visibility. Even polarized lenses won't cut through the glare you'll see on a stark white helm. WoodGrain Dash Panels made of Aluminium Made of Aluminum, our woodgrain dash panels hold their shape and won't warp under intense summer heat like less expensive plastic panels. Can you imagine a deckboat with a plastic imitation woodgrain dash panel? We can't but sadly, some do. Recessed TeleFlex Gauges Brushed Aluminum face plates and stainless steel bezels are classy and the hour-meter is built into the tach. Many still use plastic bezels with gauges that mount atop the panel. Five Inch Four-in-One Instruments Add it up, rivals need up to 13 gauges to accomplish what we do in five. Not only can you monitor vital engine functions easier, but fewer gauges mean more dash space for Ray Marine electronics. Glass Lenses High quality glass les intruments weather better and provice more visual clarity, while preventing the irritating cracking and condensation build-up so commonplace with inexpensive plastic lens gauges. Constant Light Rocker Switches On a Signature Cruiser when the sun goes down your day on the water doesn't have to end. Our rocker switches have a positive tactile feel and are always illuminated for quick identification, not just when activated by rivals. Circuit Breakers Our circuit breakers are clearly identified and work with color coordinated wiring harnesses to create the optimum electrical system on the water.
Quad Radial Lamination Unlike leading rivals, we have no problem peeling back the gelcoat and showing you what our boats are made of. Our Quad Radial lamination process starts with an advanced-technology, NPG polyester gelcoat for superior resistance to yellowing, fading and chalking. Next we add alternating layers of woven roving and fiberglass mat in the hull to create a quad-radial lamination system that keeps the strength up and the weight down. We also extend woven roving all the way up the hullside. To help prevent bottom blisters, we use Hydropel, a modified acrylic epoxy resin in the hull skin coat of our boats because of its superior bonding characteristics and exceptional flex. Next, we add Spray Core 2000 syntactic foam in the sidewalls to prevent woven roving print through. Self Bailing Cockpit Drainage System Using a unique molded cockpit drainage system under the seats and along the floorboards excess water is routed into floor scuppers then directly overboard. Because water isn’t channeled into the bilge, you never have to worry about rain or incidental water creating a potential safety hazard should the battery lose power. We even have channels to route water directly overboard on our radar arches. Electro Polished Thru Hull Fittings Built to last, electro polished thru-hull fittings are more durable, virtually non-corrosive and better looking than inexpensive plastic fittings. Triple Fastened Stainless Steel Rub Rail When our eye-catching stainless steel rub rail goes on, we incorporate a triple fastening system to ensure a secure fit between the deck and hull for added structural integrity. We use the same rail on our activity platform. 1" Hand Rails and 1 1/4" Deck Rails We do our rivals a full quarter inch better and equip our top-of-the-line 350, 320 and 280 cruisers with oversized hand and deck rails. On all of our boats, double weld bases are stronger than single weld flat washer bases and we counter sink our screw heads for a polished, high class UL Approved Diamond Non-Skid Our innovative UL Approved Diamond Non-Skid provides extremely sure footing, feels comfortable against bare feet and is easier to keep clean than silica non-skid that traps sand, grease and dirt.
