OWNERS COMMENTS
ALL ROUND,THIS DESIGN GIVES A SOUND BOAT FOR RELATIVELY FAST CRUISING WHEREVER HER OWNERS MAY WANT TO GO.

Construction is steel, designed in excess of the ABS scantling rules for ocean racing yachts. This allows unnecessary weight to be trimmed out where loadings are not high whilst placing strength into the structure in high load areas. She is robust, using 4mm plate in the flat topside plating and 5mm in the bottom and radiused chine. The design waterline has been stretched out as long as is practical to carry the displacement and maintain performance. The hull has been shaped for ease of construction, using a single radiused chine configuration, giving a round bilge hull shape. She has a Full Lead Ballast (8,816lbs /4 tons) Fin Keel of 1.8m, and a skeg-mounted rudder. The centre cockpit has a conventional trunk cabin, which is deep-set with comfortable coamings, good protection, and positioned over the engine. The steering system used on Ocean Flight, is a shaft mounted rack and pinion wheel steering system, with the rudder stock been driven by rod steering and universal ball joints.Interior layouts are comfortable and worked around the central engine position, giving good access for maintenance. The double spreader marconi cutter rig is probably the most efficient cruising rig for this size of boat and, proportioned as it is, will keep her moving in all airs.

SPECIAL FEATURES:

• The toe-rail, cleats and fairleads are all stainless steel.• The stainless steel Roll bar, which supports the wind generator and solar panels, allows the dinghy and outboard to be hoisted single-handed. • Full beam lazarette (12'6) - plenty of storage• Only ONE single seawater inlet - for optimum security and safety.• From build, the entire hull interior has been protected from corrosion by liberal applications of epoxy tar, and is insulated throughout. • The insulation was applied from the waterline up and over the coach roof with 40mm thick foam.• Engine access from all points• Extremely well ventilated vessel• Large chain locker with Deck Access• 2 Deck Wash Points

Conscientiously Maintained - New standing rigging and hull resprayed 2006.
