TEAL CLASS 30 ONE-DESIGN
Built by E. Williams at the Sunbeam Yard in Cowes.
Now Professionally restored.
After a couple of year of single-handed sailing 'Content' my Father has
reluctantly decide to sell her and has now downsized to a another classic
called 'Sarrafina', a Newquay one design which was built here at William
Partington Marine .
He spent several years meticulously restoring 'Content' and would like to
see it sold to someone with as much enthusiasm for these wooden yachts as he
has.
Extensive refit in 2002. This included removal of the inboard petrol engine
and much of the non original joinery work in the cabin and cockpit.
The original wooden mast and boom were replaced with aluminium spars and
stainless steel standing rigging.
A new mainsail shorter on the foot than original gave room for a permanant
backstay, renderingthe running backstays redundant. A new jib with roller
furling was fitted, the main is slab reefing.
No structural repairs of any consquence were needed due to the quality of
the original build and thematerials used, but much cosmetic work was carried
out and many detail improvements made.
Since then she has been mainly sailed single handed , a 2hp Honda on a
detachable side bracket gives four knots plus in calm waters.
Now seventy years old, Content is in exceptional condition. Strongly built
with grown oak frames, she has kept her original beautiful shape and
sheerline.
