CONSTRUCTIONBuilt in 1961. Wooden construction of Carvel Mahogany planking, Hickory splined on Rock Elm frames with marine ply decks and Mahogany coachroof, long iron keel, aft cockpit with tiller steering and Bermudan sloop rig. Cream topsides and blue decks. 4 berths in 2 cabins with around 6ft maximum headroom.
BUILDER:Designed by Frederick Parker and built by Woodnutt’s on the Isle of Wight. Part I British Registered No 302007.

SAILS & RIG:Roller reefing mainsail (20 years old) with mainsail cover (new 2009). Genoa roller reefing system by Sailspar (1999) with furling No 1 Genoa (2000) Gowens. 3 spare sails including Jib, working Jib and Spinnaker. Hollow pitch pine mast with solid boom and stainless steel standing rigging (standing rigging replaced in 1997).
ENGINE:Nanni 14HP inboard diesel fitted new in May 2005. Indirect cooling system. 10 gallon fuel tank with a consumption per hour of around ½ a gallon at a cruising speed of about 5 knots. Shaft drive to fixed 2 blade bronze propeller. Alternator charging to 2 x 80 amp/hr 12 volt batteries. Cruising speed under engine is around 5 knots and current engine hours are around 340.

DECK GEAR:Stainless steel pushpit, pulpit and guardwires, sprayhood (new 2008), spraydodgers (new 2008), cockpit and boat cover (new 2008), heavy duty winter cover, 4 cockpit cushions, rope boarding ladder, tiller, wooden whisker pole, 2 sheet winches and 2 halyard winches, outboard bracket on pushpit, 25lb CQR main anchor with 60m chain and warp, 10lb CQR kedge anchor with 20m warp, various mooring warps and fenders.
SAFETY GEAR:Jackstay lifelines on side decks, Danbuoy, horseshoe lifebuoy with light, 2 lifejackets, 2 safety harnesses, inshore pack of distress flares (expire 12/12), 3 manual fire extinguishers, fog horn, stripper rope cutter on propeller, electric bilge pump and manual bilge pump.
NAVIGATION EQUIPMENT:Plastimo bulkhead compass, Sestrel Minor compass, Seafarer 700 echo sounder, Wasp trailing log, Burgee, ICOM VHF radio with DSC, model number IC-M411, radar reflector, tide clock and barometer, various charts, navigation light, steaming light and anchor light.
DOMESTIC EQUIPMENT:She has a Plastimo Calorific gas heater, her galley has a Propane 2 burner Plastimo gas cooker, various pots, pans, cutlery and crockery, water supply to the sink is from a 20 gallon fixed water tank. Separate heads compartment has a Jabsco 2000 marine toilet. Hanging locker opposite, blue vinyl upholstery (new 2003).
ACCOMMODATION:She has 4 berths including 2 single berths in the forepeak and 2 single settee berths in the saloon.
REMARKS:“Ondine” has been in joint ownership since 1992 (4th owners) and has been based in Tollesbury Marina since then to the present day. She has been used for weekend and short break cruising, Essex and Suffolk coastal waters and rivers. She has participated in the East Coast Classic Regatta in 2010 and 2011 and has been wintered ashore annually to facilitate hull maintenance. Her last survey was in April 2005. Her topsides are normally painted in Toplac, her decks in Interdeck and her brightwork in Coelan and various tung oil varnishes. She has also been antifouled annually. She was re-engined with a new Nanni 14HP diesel in 2005. In recent years her owners have replaced the Sprayhood, dodgers and covers. She is a thoroughly Classic yacht, one of only 4 built, a full history is available and she can be viewed afloat at Tollesbury Marina.
