Collingwood Expedition Originally built for the Canadian Coast Guard in Lauzon, Quebec as a buoy tender and sounding vessel, M/V BEAUPORT was designed and constructed for light-duty ice breaking. Beauport spent her first 30 years operating year round in fresh water on the St. Lawrence Sea Way. Originally accommodating a crew of 34, the vessel was sold to a U.S. owner in 1993, at which time she was converted to a luxury yacht. There were a number of cabins removed to make way for guest accommodations, a large master cabin and a main salon. In 1998 Beauport was moved to Jacksonville Florida, where she underwent a 6 month mechanical refit of all engines and operating systems. In the spring of 2000 2 new John Deere 115 KW generators were installed as well as a back up 150 KW Isuzu and massive 8 Ton hydraulic deck Crane. Beauport was acquired by her new owners in February of 2004 and they are currently looking to either sell her outright or take on a partner of either 1/4 to 1/2 ownership. She is tremendously efficient burning only 30 gallons an hour at cruise for both engines and one genset. Many recent upgrades make this yacht a must see for the worldwide cruiser. Currently in St. Croix in the USVI, stopping next in Aruba and Venezuela before reaching Columbia in the next few weeks. Call today to discuss this ship's interesting history.
