Grand Banks Motor Yacht (3 Stateroom) Sunlight is a fine example of the Grand Banks 42 three stateroom, two head Motor Yacht layout; with a large open salon, wrap-around dinette seating, dual helm, spacious and well-equipped galley, handsome teak cabinetry with plenty of storage and drawers designed to accommodate liveaboards and long-term cruisers. The twin Ford Lehman 135 hp diesels run strong and very efficiently cruise at 9 knots. She's equipped with updated electronics, a Kohler 10Kw GenSet, dual A/C systems, recent Sunbrella Bimini and wind skirts, separate top-loading large SeaFrost holding plate Refrigerator & Freezer, good ground tackle and a fuel and water capacity to take you the destinations of your dreams. The exterior teak trim gleams with varnish and her teak decks will serve you well for many years.
Recent upgrades in 2006 and 2007 include teak deck refinishing, engine heat exchangers removed and reconditioned, transmission coolers, fuel pumps, and water pumps replaced or rebuilt, engine room and engines painted and detailed. The GenSet and main engines were thoroughly analyzed and serviced to ensure readiness for a tough survey and your next long-distance cruise. This classic yacht is ready to go, so don't delay.

The Main Salon has plenty of space in the center to accommodate free-standing additional furniture. Engine room access is via four large hatches in the parquet teak flooring fo the main salon.
Moving forward and down several stairs on center next to the lower helm is the passageway leading to the Guest Mid SR to port, with the Guest Head and shower opposite with marble countertop vanity and sink. All the way forward is the large V-Berth SR with extensive teak cabinetry and several opening windows. Deck hatches above the V-Berth and Aft SR provide plenty of light and ventilation, as well as sliding windows in every area.
Galley: The galley runs along the port side of the Main Salon with the SeaFrost holding plate refrigerator and freezer located aft of the entry door from the side deck and the SS double sinks with H/C pressure water, microwave, and 3-Burner Princess propane stove with oven are forward of the salon door. Generous Teak cabinets and drawers are above, below and forward of the galley. Hot water is provided by a large tank heated by the engines or 110V.
Electronics & Navigation: There are Standard Horizon VHF radios, Danforth compasses and digital Standard Horizon depth instruments and full engine instrumentation and gauges at each of the two helm stations, and a Garmin 162 Map Chartplotter at the lower helm. An AM/FM/CD Stereo with multiple speakers is located in the main salon along with Weems & Plath Brass Clock and Barometer.
Electrical: The 12V/12OV AC/DC electrical system with a 10 kW Kohler GenSet 2000 is designed to keep you self-sufficient and comfortable whether dockside, underway or at anchor. Inventory includes Shorepower cords with multiple adaptors and the Generator is capable of running both A/C systems, as well as refrigeration, microwave, stove and all lights. Additional electrical systems include: 3 @ 8D Batteries ProMariner ProTech4 30Amp Multi-Bank Battery Charger.
Deck Equipment: The teak decks were recently refurbished and provide not only a practical non-slip surface, but add to the charm of this yacht. Unlike many teak-decked trawlers, the subdecks under the teak are solid fiberglass. A heavy-duty Ideal dual gypsy 12V Windlass is designed to handle the all-chain anchor rode but will accommodate rope anchor rodes as well. Ground tackle includes two Danforth 35# anchors with chain and nylon rodes. The large teak swim platform facilitates boarding from a dinghy and the two large teak-covered aft deck-mounted storage boxes provide plenty of storage space for fenders and dock lines. Sunbrella wind skirts around the flybridge, aft deck rails, and matching Bimini and snap-on window sunscreens complete the practical and aesthetic good looks of Sunlight. The hull was recently buffed and waxed, and all interior and exterior teak brightwork trim and cabinetry is in very good condition.
Engine Area: In late 2006 and 2007, the twin 135 hp Ford Lehman 6 cylinder naturally-aspirated diesels and the 10 kW Kohler GenSet were thoroughly checked over by a professional mechanic and updated to ensure they operate within manufacturer's specifications. You'll appreciate the freshly-painted engine room and machinery, as well as the reliability gained for Sunlight's next owner of the reconditioned heat exchangers, oil coolers, fuel and water pumps, as well as many new clamps and hoses, including exhaust hoses, risers and elbows.
A FireBoy Halon automatic fire extinguisher system is installed in the engine room.
