Built by the current owner in Cape Town to a John G Alden design (No 744)and launched in 1985. A beautifully made and maintained yacht which is ready to sail with many features and extras.

Construction, Sali & Rig
Construction:
Hull: Timber. Strip planked all strips bevelled, tapered & scarphed. Iroko, Mahogany. Perfectly fair! Silicon Bronze fastened on 50x50mm laminated frames on 250mm centres. Iroko below waterline, mahogany topsides.
Backbone: Laminated Afromosia and laminated Iroko stern. Long keel
Deck: Layed Iroko on marine 12mm ply. Swept on laminated deck-beams
Superstructure: Iroko. Laminated deck beams. Bronze opening ports. Large hatches.
Ballast: External Iron with internal lead moveable for trim

Sails & Rig:
Masts: Aluminium 5mm wall thickness. Main tapered toward the cap
Standing rig: s/s using norseman fittings. All replaced 2003
Reefing:slab with leech lines running to self tailer mast mounted below boom gooseneck
Furling: No 1 Jib on Profurl
Stay sail: boomed
Sails: Main, mizzen, stay, Jib no1 & no2, storm jib
