Consolidated Marine 12 Meter America's Cup Yacht This is a rare opportunity to own "Steak & Kidney," the recently refitted 1986 12M KA-14, America's Cup Challenger designed by Peter Cole and built by Consolidated Marine. She raced as a defender candidate for Australia in 1987. This classic has been operating as a 25 passenger charter vessel, match racing against 1977 challenger, "Australia," (also for sale), and other America Cup classic 12M yachts for half-day trips of racing or sightseeing. In 2004 she was refitted for charter and repainted to original colors of white and pale blue.

Accommodations: The interior of Steak & Kidney is spartan and the open interior with 6' headroom allows full inspection of her aluminum bare hull & alloy floorboards. Her layout is open from stern to collision bulkhead with no accommodations except an ElectroSan head, sink with cold water, and Esky refrigerator. Imagine the possibilities if you wanted to update all or some of the interior with more civilized amenities!
Galley: Steak & Kidney is fitted with an Esky Refrigerator, but has no galley. There is one sink with cold water. There is plenty of open space available to fit a large galley.

Rigging, Hull, & Deck Equipment: Steak & Kidney has a powerful fractional rig with a Sail Area of approx. 1,801 sq. ft. The aluminum spars, triple spreaders, and rod rigging were removed, carefully inspected, tested, painted, and upgraded in 2004. All running rigging was replaced at that time. Headsails are hanked on and the mainsail has Fredricksen cars to facilitate hoisting and lowering the mainsail.

Engine & Mechanical Area: The Yanmar 3 Cylinder model Y3T84 Diesel engine and all mechanics were thoroughly checked & serviced as part of the 2004 major refit. The Gearbox was rebuilt in 2004. The propeller is a 3 blade feathering Auto Stream.
